Dispute deflection
A question about a charge can start with missing context. GYB Connect connects supported transaction and fulfillment information with purchase-inquiry services, helping customers and their banks understand the payment.

Dispute deflection brings relevant purchase information into an eligible inquiry before it becomes a chargeback. The aim is to resolve uncertainty about a genuine purchase or support an eligible evidence-based deflection. It is different from refunding a payment or contesting a chargeback that has already been filed.
Help the customer connect the charge with the merchant they purchased from, using the business details available in the supported experience.
Connect the payment reference with available order, receipt or fulfillment information that helps explain the transaction.
Supported services can make that context available through participating banking channels or issuer inquiry teams.
The customer recognizes the purchase.
The inquiry continues through the applicable process.
The customer sees a charge they do not immediately recognize or asks their bank about it.
The enrolled service matches the inquiry with the available transaction information.
Relevant merchant and purchase details help explain what the payment relates to.
Recognition can resolve the question; an unresolved inquiry continues through the applicable process. Eligible evidence-based deflection depends on the service and network requirements.
Supported online-payment records can connect browser or device identifiers, IP information and account references with relevant purchase history. Those details can help assess whether a transaction meets an applicable evidence-based deflection path.
Visa Compelling Evidence 3.0 and Mastercard First-Party Trust each require specific data, transaction eligibility and a supported submission route. Capturing a browser identifier does not by itself activate a network program or make a payment eligible.
Enrollment, data requirements and coverage are defined for your configuration. Having a receipt alone does not make every transaction eligible for automatic deflection.
